what we have here is a couple of basses that have received varying levels of blackout treatment.

the 4003 got a guard and trc… and imho it is perfect.

The jazz i have posted before. there are a few more items that need black like the jack and the string tree retainer… and maybe strings. but imho the white around the pickguard i steuggle to remove as it adds definition. Same with strings… if i go all black that really only leaves the frets and i dont want all the visual attention going there. might need to try it though…

posted with a black amp that i added white piping to.

i feel the 4003 needs black pickguard screws.

My "one that got away" bass :crying:, a Fender-Japan Limited Edition "All-Black" JB62 that I ordered all the way from Ishibashi…

…and Projekt Black, the bass I assembled to fill the hole in my heart after having to sell that glorious instrument.
(I dig that Projekt bass, but it just isn't the same! :bawl:)

Black Out basses are just as classic as any old sunburst with tort, every day.

Peavey Dyna Bass Unity LTD, she had very tarnished formerly gold hardware so dressed her up with black hardware and dubbed her "Midnight Lady".
Guyker tuners, Kramer branded Schaller bridge ( it was a fair price, call me frugal), matte black "P" knobbies and DR Black Beauties. Seymour Duncan Vintage P, Jazz Stack V and passive electronics. Dyna bass circuit was boogered so using it for parts.
