Alternative to Tech 21 VT Bass pedal?

Hey all
I am looking for a stompbox style preamp that is similiar to the VT Bass. Something that has tube-y character and maybe a bit of drive.The drive part is not necessary, as much as having a EQ section and something that adds a bit of tube like character.

The VT Bass is a great pedal, just seeing if there is anything similiar. Besides other Sansamp products.

FWIW, I personally consider the VT Bass line more pre-amp than just "effect". Given the fact that they're discussed with some frequency here amp-side, it would appear that others would agree.

I'm a big fan of my VTDI, but to answer your question, IMO it seems like it's most often discussed in the same breath as some of the Ampeg and Tone Hammer pedal offerings. Sometimes even the Darkglass Vintage as well.

Definitely looking for something more than an overdrive. The overdrive aspect is the least important part. I want coloration.

The SFT is great, however it's not a DI pedal.
