Alusonic Basses

I've never heard of them before, but there is a history of metal-bodied guitars and basses from the dobro days - there are folks making hollow aluminum and bass bodies out there, but I haven't found one recently who sells the bodies separately (rather than entire completed instruments). If I could find one, I was thinking of getting a hollow aluminum tele thinline body and mounting an old Kramer aluminum neck on it. :) No luck yet though. Will check out Alusonic though. :)

Interesting!

Hybrid alder body topped with aluminum.

Of course, it won't make any difference, as we all KNOW that the pickups produce 99% of the sound of a solidbody bass guitar.
I read it on TalkBass.
