Variations to the bass will be a new 3-String model, called "The 'Bory Bass", as well as "The Ash Barty" tennis themed bass.

Fender CEO / President Andy Mooney in a press release stated;
"Bass players these days are getting too good, too young. Have you seen these Tiik-Tok videos? We wanted to make playing a bass a real challenge, to harken back to the glory days of Fender! We firmly believe that rubber band strings are the wave of the future of yesterday." Regarding the 3-String model, Mooney Added, "Jaco only needed 3 strings...so, Boom goes the dynamite!"

When I was shopping for a fretless Jazz bass in Chicago, ca. 1988, I was lured to a janky south side shop who told me on the phone they had lots of fretless basses. When I got there, all they had was a Guild Ashbory bass and a poorly defretted Fender. The guy legit tried to sell me the Ashbory. Later in life, a nerd at work was excited to show me his new bass... and it was an Ashbory. I wish I could take them seriously, I'm all for compactness, but the floppy rubber-band strings just break the deal for me. (Nice troll tho.;))
