Yeah, I think I'll be getting a couple more of the dynamic and maybe a condenser. I found that extra foam inside definitely helps. I also saw an old photo from around 1960 in which someone was using the original Sure version. It had a big piece of foam attached to the front with rubber bands.
I'd give you a review of the condenser version on Wednesday when mine come in, but I'm too much of a hack to know the difference. I ordered both. I wonder, if they fail, if I can add a shure capsule in the bling bling case???
Thanks! At first I didn't see the need for the condenser version, but I'm in a band now that could really use one for some vocals. For live work, the sound quality is not as imperative as for recording. I mean, it needs to be above a certain bar, but that's about it.
I'm not much of a singer. The only thing I have to compare to is a 6 pack of very old but lightly used University Sound dynamic mics, something like these: Invalid Link Removed

Put a set of the robroy headphones in the cart as well but I'm disappointed that one reviewer says they won't be good for Taylor Swift. At least they kill on Hall and Oates.

I have a Taylor swift pandora channel at work. They sound amazing with taylor swift. But that's just me. That was the first place I heard Lorde's Royals. The bass, the clarity...I ended up buying the album on vinyl.
I wish I had thought of the headphones while ordering. I was up to free shipping with a bunch of rack junk.
I've gotta say that Amazon has taken a lot of my business from them - sadly. We're prime members and live in the sticks, so we do most of our non-grocery shopping online. This means Costco online or amazon.
And with amazon prime. I can go in, order a ten dollar item and it's at my home in a few days, no shipping. In fact, it's always "up" on my computer. One day last week I needed new headlights so I went to my desktop after work, opened amazon, searched headlights for my car (amazon already knows what cars I own so I just select the car), and I get a bunch of choices. I pick the good sylvania halogens, on sale for ten bucks a pair, and slip into the dining room for dinner. Took less than five minutes.
And they arrived in two business days, free shipping. Did the same thing friday for an adaptor that takes the optical digital output from my tv and converts it to RCA stereo for my vintage hi-fi. At the end of a movie (sick of the sound the TV produces) I sat down at the computer, searched, read a few reviews and ordered. Took about seven minutes.
And my daughter ordered a game controller in Seattle. It took an hour to ARRIVE. Sheesh...
They came today and I took one to rehearsal for my original trio, which is not the band I had in mind. The rehearsal room PA is nothing fancy but it sounded fine and didn't have feedback problems. Didn't notice any pop filter problem.
The headphones are OK. I practice at home through a roland basscube into headphones. I have to turn everything up louder to get the same volume I've been getting. Must be an impedance thing. But at the same volume they don't sound particularly better or worse than what I've been using.

I'm glad a got 5 of the chromed dynamic Elvis mics before the close them out.
They sound plenty good to me, in fact I may sell off a couple of my Shure SH55's.

The headphones are not as efficient as ear buds, but efficiency is not an issue for me. Bass so accurate I think I left my subwoofer on IS critical, as is comfort. Being able to wear them for hours on end is a big plus. I also have a pair of Koss Pro 4AA's and those are downright excruciating in a fairly short period of time. And they do not have the natural bass these do.

Somebody was dumping a bunch of aluminum cases with foam on CL for $10. I got a few for mics and other gizmos.
I ordered two of the condenser mics which showed up today. Very cool looking and substantial. I guess I'm going to need a heavy mic stand or some sandbags to weigh it down.
Unfortunately even though my mixer has a phantom power switch it doesn't work when I run my mics through my VR DigiTech vocalist and then into the mixer.
If I go straight into the mixer though the blue light comes on and the mic works.
I'll have to see if I can figure out a workaround so I can use my harmonizer on vocals.

Probably do the trick and be of very good quality in build and function. Of course it turns a $25 mic into a $75 mic real fast. For not a lot more money, I think I would look at an ART tube preamp to either place in front of the VR or replace it, whichever sounds best to you. Just look at the fearures and I/O carefully to be sure you get one that will work with what you have.
