They call it a "bomb cyclone."

Not to sound insensitive (and I'm not insensitive about it; I live in northern California), but "Bomb Cyclone" would be a cool band name.
LOL! I know you not insensitive. We're cross town bunkies! I'm looking out my window and at my lights and wondering when they'll go off. I'm sure you got the SMUD auto call telling you to beware! The guitarist in my jazz band is worried about his backyard flooding into his house. Hoping it doesn't. We need the rain, but man. It's either deluge or desert around here.

The current wave hitting us in California.

Just checked the weather… we’re gonna get pounded at about 3 pm. Flood watch, thunderstorms, expect 2-5 inches of rain… I mean, it’s not like it’s already rained here more since the beginning of December than it did the entirety of the previous 2 years… And everyone thinks California has “the best” weather.

Though, to be honest, I don’t know what it’s like everywhere else. I understand the north east got hit with an insane amount of weather, as did the Midwest, and Florida, but I’ve never lived through any of that so I’m completely ignorant to that level of weather.

Any of you in the extremes, I pray that your and yours remain safe.

Extreme weather stinks.

Man Pupu Nyor, which translates as “little mountain of the gods,” is a geological wonder located deep in Russia’s Ural Mountains. They’re actually seven formations ranging in heights up to 42 meters (137 feet).

These awe-inspiring Seven Giants, as they’re called, reign over a flat plateau. Local legend says they were created when a shaman cast a spell, turning these evil giants into stone.

This is still in conceptual phase. But you can count me out in the reality phase.

Luxury campgrounds with Airstream trailers, canvas tents, and yurts have become wildly popular over the last few years. But Dubai-based Ardh Architects is taking glamping — a portmanteau of "glamorous" and "camping" — one step higher, literally.

Ardh's concept isn't for travelers with acrophobia. Instead of tents pitched in the dirt, the architecture studio's design features tents suspended almost 330 feet above the ground and between two mountains.
