This is still in conceptual phase. But you can count me out in the reality phase.

Luxury campgrounds with Airstream trailers, canvas tents, and yurts have become wildly popular over the last few years. But Dubai-based Ardh Architects is taking glamping — a portmanteau of "glamorous" and "camping" — one step higher, literally.

Ardh's concept isn't for travelers with acrophobia. Instead of tents pitched in the dirt, the architecture studio's design features tents suspended almost 330 feet above the ground and between two mountains.

This is actually a picture of what’s left of Discovery Park and boat launch. That strip of green is the high point.

Here in SoCal, at my house, I have a rain gage. So far we have received over 8" in the past few weeks. That's more than half of the rain than we received all last year. That said, we have more rain coming over the weekend. I know you guys in NorCal have received even more rain than here in SoCal. I am not complaining as we need to fill the reservoirs back up from the past few years of drought. Rain is good.

Not to belittle this image in any way, but just to add some perspective:

"During the winter, you might see Discovery Park underwater during high water. Discovery Park is part of the Sacramento area flood control system. It is designed to flood to take pressure off American River levees when there is a lot of water in the system."
