Aesthetic Meat Front out of Berlin is still going at it. I have worked with them a few times. Definitely a challenging set of issues on gigs like that. Being able to improvise is key when you work with performances where you can’t do a dress rehearsal and where shows often have a fluid definition of timing. I have a story about a show when I triggered a music change WAY early and it caused a variety of problems because there was no way to unring the bell. The stage performers covered for me and I think the show actually benefited from being a bit shorter, but my mistake created some safety issues for one of the main performers. I still kick myself about that, and she occasionally reminds me of it (in a half joking way).
