I added a duplicate Ona oscillator by Nano. I kinda like it better than the Instruo Ts-L I had in that spot. Just started tweaking things, but it seems easy to dial in.

I’m considering adding a Boredbrain Injectr. I already have an input module but I don’t have the gate and envelope follower functions. Befaco makes a similar device that doesn’t have a cab sim but does have a mic XLR input.

I had one for a while
It’s a cool pedal but imo it’s sound terrible on its own.
Dirt is definitely a must after that pedal.
It sounds “brittle” and metallic but not as much as the Micro Pog

Yeah. It’s not a must own box. A little too much is too much. It was on sale and I wanted to try something that gave me a 5th harmony. Guess I could see what the HX Stomp has and grab one, but this was easy. No menu. Plug in. Turn knobs.

I feel like this Gamechanger Recoder belongs here. Sadly no real video/audio demos yet, but the description sounds pretty intriguing: basically a looper that uses the loop to effect a second signal- with all sorts of different adjustable possibilities of how it does it, from harmonizing your playing to the loop, granulizing and inserting the loop in pieces at random, analyzing and inserting the loops to match playing transients, etc. RECODER - Gamechanger Audio

Curious to see how this develops. They push the envelope and I don’t always like the results, but I appreciate the goal.

Yeah I am pretty annoyed at the lack of any real demos and just vague paid promotional filler outside the descriptions on the product page, and an order cutoff date of Dec 10. I guess they will drop some demo videos last minute to try to push people to order on impulse and not give them too much time to talk themselves out of it. Strange product launch IMO. The price isn’t bad at all though

I've thought about getting it multiple times, and never jumped on it because I didn't want to let go of anything big enough to make the room.

It's too good and too interesting for me to pass up. So I had a showdown between a few of my oscillators, and decided the RYK Algo and Auza Wave Packets can go. I did a case rearrange last night, now I'm waiting on the notification about the second production run (first one sold out in a few hours).

RYK Algo sounds good, but it may be the least unique of my modules. I have a lot of things that do FM, and Algo is so clean that it doesn't really have a special character all its own, unlike Akemie's Castle. I originally got Algo to replace the one thing I was mostly doing with Shapeshifter, and I feel like I can also do that with K-Accumulator or even Toros Iteritas Alia.

Wave Packets has done some fun things for me but its timbre is vanilla and it's kind of a two-trick pony. K-Accumulator does one of those tricks (synchronizing its own frequency to another signal), and I can patch the other one in plenty of other ways. I always found dialing in the timing of the contour stages a little awkward, and I really only use that section for self-modulation of the waveshape.

The crazy thing I noticed is that Perfect Circuit’s listing for it shows 23 reviews for a $600 module and average rating is 5 stars. I don’t think I’ve seen that many reviews for any other product.

That other oscillator is wild. I’m still very happy with my Algo for FM and folding.

Somewhat related “hot take” on synths. I’m still considering the Sequential Fourm, but checking out other options, particularly because there’s a fair amount of complaining online about things the Fourm “lacks” compared to similarly priced objects. I pulled up a video for the Moog Messenger and was not impressed by the sound. I watched a few more videos and still couldn’t find sounds that grabbed me like the Fourm demos did. Somehow everyone in the comments was thrilled with the Moog’s sound. I’m now more convinced than ever that synth players are weirdos and loonies.

Since there are some synth heads in this thread. One of the most amazing newer synths is the Supercritical Red Shift 6. Take a look at the specs, concept and listen to the demos. It is a little more expensive than the Sequential or Moog but you get a whole lot more synth. The developers are super accessible on Discourse and they continue to deliver feature after feature.
