Wow. Only need 4 hands now. This is definitely made to be at arms reach to tweak Ad vitam æternam .
Only down side I see is the knobs are small.
(Again. 1st world problem)

Great....now i wanna hear blooper into blooper and see if a black hole vortex will open and tear a rift in the space time continuum

I have gleaned that many of you use a tremendous amount of pedals. I suspect midi programs and more.
I am very intrigued by industrial sounds, ambient and the like. My friend and I get together with no structure ahead of us. Played yesterday as a fact. He's got about five pedals going including a looper sometimes. We utilize a korg triton for sounds/drums in some of it. I run a roland tr707 in the mix sometimes. As a bass player, I rely more on the fact I have a fret-less, 12, 8, 5 and 4 string basses for sound changes. But I have lately found a very cool signal path I am liking with some very old boxes and compression. Thus straying from my normal bass rig set up for regular "band" type playing. Regardless, Couple samples below...
Wondering if we fit in... Welcome aboard or get that poopie out of here?

Also an idiot for keeping it complicated.

This is kinda working like I want it. Not in pic is a flanger in another loop of channels 5-6 which is kinda cool.

Sick!!! I like the drone feel. Also the looping « cricket » type thing!!!
See now that's some dope stuff right there.

My only little @$$hole comment thing would be the « women's voice » its cool and it works but is soooooooo over used in the genre. (Now I feel bad for saying this :(

@lordradish you get a free pass to thrash my noise crap next time!!!

I'm not a thrasher... as much as I'm not into noise, I don't somehow see it as something to trash. I have no interest in listening to or playing it, but I have no interest in trashing other people's very real art, too.

Good point about the vocal thing. It's a fine line for a lot of these things between conventions and cliche. I think the female vox adds a bit of needed creepiness. When I wrote this piece, I had some sort of vision of people, late at night, with flashlights in a field in Nebraska, with some sort of sinister/tension... hiding a body? Finding a body?

I tend to be much more aware of new-age style cliches because there's so much overlap, and just like I can't stand most 80's music, I can't stand cheesy new-age drivel, either.

Like you said, very fine line between dope ambient and cheesy new age sometimes.
But I really think your tracks are dope. Keep em coming.

I'll take those as compliments! FSOL was a big one for me, back in the day.
Funny, as far as titles go, I was always thinking of King Crimson's Fracture, which couldn't be further from what my piece is. But still awesome, as KC tends to be (and just about the only 'heavy' music I like).

During the same time as FSOL I was more into the Herbaliser. (Since they are both from England)


Both dope, just very different.

Yep, meant as compliments.

In case you didn't check out the track I linked to, it isn't at all heavy - just an instrumental Bass piece, over a bunch of sound effects from the movie 'Alien'.

I am trying so hard to get away from the 4-on-the-floor thing with my non-ambient stuff. It ain't easy.
