Y’a cage for me is mostly miss, but what i do like I find simply awesome. Morton also, I really like his piano works like Triadic Memories.

IMO with such experimental artists that is bound to happen. The where very prolific and not everything is gonna click with you.

R Crumb and the Cheap Suit Serenaders only put out 3 albums:
R. Crumb and his Cheap Suit Serenaders (1974),
R. Crumb and his Cheap Suit Serenaders No. 2 (1976), and
R. Crumb and his Cheap Suit Serenaders No. 3 (1978).

The first was never reissued but you can find copies of #2 and #3 under different album names nowadays.



He prophesied the current situation with "I'm Gonna Get It", the track below alas woefully poor volume and fidelity, but you'll get the drift:




Ambient, though? Maybe as defined in the roaring '20s/dirty '30s...via a mid-70s time-warp.

I tried to get another one a couple years ago, but they were too trendy and therefore expensive :/

imo, the growth of the modular thing has been exponential. it's not a value judgement on whether or not they're useful or cool. i just see the people around me who have gone that route.

Was just having a talk with a modular pal about this sort of thing. The modular structure is super fun, but in the bang for buck category, it just keeps getting worse. Doepfer remains underrated and fairly priced, but some of this boutique stuff just ain’t worth it to me

THe money is the big obstacle for me. For me to get the kinds of sounds I want out of modular, I'd have to spend a few grand, easily, and I can find other ways to get those sounds. Modular, to me, is the 'if money was no object' kind of thing.

i play gigs with them, etc. i like the cool sounds.
