On this one, I did the choral texture on the bass board, then @ugly_bassplayer worked some magic on it and then threw the beats and bass on it.
That should be good.
I just made a huge leap forward with Ableton and an ongoing recording latency issue. Turns out there are two latency adjustments that needed to be made in two different places.
This long video explains it.
In this case, I'm using Ableton MIDI to sequence my 0 Coast, and then record the output.
The summary of the steps.
1. Adjust "Driver Error Compensation" in Preferences to an "Overall Latency" of 0. Say you have Input Latency of 10 ms and Output Latency of 10 ms, for a net of 20 ms, then you enter a -20 value in the Driver Error Compensation. THIS DOES NOT FIX THE ISSUE. It is just step 1.
2. Turn the channel Monitoring to Off for the audio channel you will record to. You MUST do this step. You can still monitor with your interface if it supports zero-latency monitoring.
3. Record a bit of audio. Preferably something with a clean transient, like a kick. This will be out of sync with the grid. You can highlight the clip audio between the transient and the start of the clip, and Ableton will give you a time measurement for the selected silent region, displayed at the bottom of the screen.
4. This is the step I kept missing. On the right of the screen is a D in a circle, next to the S/R and M icons. Click that to reveal Track Delay value/input. In that field, enter the time value from the highlighted "silence" I mentioned in the previous step.
Now, when you hit record the transient should line up on the grid.
It was that Track Delay setting I was missing. And that only works if the monitoring is "Off" according to the video.

Any opinions on the iMPC2 app, real ones are WAY to expensive now.

I have it, the workflow's pretty cool, I stopped using it when I got my MPCLive
Quite understandable. Was looking at MPC 1000s.......the prices are #$%^&^%^& crazy.

I'm hearing a few things on the bass. Chorus and reverb? What was going on there @steubig ?
Seems redundant considering the knobs available on many synths and softsynths...????
Plus you can add a %?& load of VST after the said softsynth...????
