hey guys, best thread on tb!

you all are far more advanced/experienced at this experimental composition thing, but i recently got a little recording capability and wanted to share with some like minded folk. this things goes through many iterations, but the general flow is always the same and the delay section is always the fun part. please critique or give feedback if i can figure out how to load the mp3...

the eisenhower quotes and samples are just a new thing i'm playing with in the daw. its so fun to produce and arrange music!! the clipping has gotten better as this was one of my first attempts at digital recording, but it's getting there

Sounds like you're just getting your feet wet with effects and recording. Where do you see yourself going with this? Any artists you'd point to as examples?

hey, thanks for taking a listen! yeah, i recorded a bunch years ago on a home 8 track recorder with cassettes but the digital thing is new. and i've never had a multifx pedal with so many different sounds either, so that is a lot of fun. i'm not sure where i see the track going honestly. it is part of a song i wrote for the college band back in the day and ive decided to rework it now that i'm exclusively playing bass. back then we made whispering sounds on loops with our acoustic guitars and that was sort of the main theme with the recording (and hence the name whispering man). i'm working towards that but got all stuck on these heartbeat sounds that i can't get enough of. anyways, yeah, the idea of a guy walking into a place and giving a speech, but like whispering things to his handlers, that's kind of where i'm going now. the delay section is (in my mind) him shouting into the mic just garbage and honks and like most political speeches. but of course i spent like 4 hours the other day just listening to the eisenhower speech for different samples that i wanted to use and then isolating and cleaning them up. still havent added any more than the beginning one but messed around with a lot of ideas there. good thing the girlfriend is understanding!
