ohhhh, we have a winner.I should read the “for dummie” version. I’m certain I missed 95% of the books “messages”.
Except the fact that it only runs on Mac. But yes it seems like quite the upgrade from the previous version.
I’m still on the fence on making the jump to Live 10....doesn’t seem like a big change for the $$.
Yeah, that woulda been nice, but that was a dollar or so too far for me. Enjoy!

abelton live, which i’ve been using since 2009 or so.
my main concern in switching would be how malleable waveforms are because i like to go in and glitch them in detail “by hand.”

i was obsessed with the whole commedia for a while.
yeah, warp markers for time. radical note stretching and squeezing. i use the octave transpose to glitch (aliasing! sometimes in conjunction with the warping).

I’ve started my mix/master efforts in Logic and I like it better for that workflow. It seems to better manage CPU and plugins in certain circumstances. Ableton starts showing artifacts where Logic keeps going clean. Possibly how the utilize multiple cores on the chips.
When given a choice, always pick both

But I’ve used Logic a lot and it is very cool.
Anyways, i,m still on the lookout for a multi FX app to use my synths with....BIAS looks promising....??

I think the Logic upgrade is fantastic if you’re already a Logic owner/user. If you own and like Ableton, I don’t see any reason to switch. Like ugly, I just don’t want to learn a new DAW and do most of my electronic stuff in hardware anyway, so I’m really happy that Logic added so many new features and it didn’t cost anything to upgrade.
I used Ableton a lot, until I got a hardware sampler. I'd still be using it quite a bit, if I weren't so intent on going DAWless for performance.

i was reading that logic is twice as efficient now
i need to work out buses and mixing in logic better, and also key commands
ableton is more fun and easier to throw down ideas, logic is good for actually making 'songs'
for ambient music i give the flexibility and non linear aspect of ableton the edge, for me

Yeah. As a hobby player, I’m definitely not gigging any time in the foreseeable future. I had a chance to sell my PA locally just before this all started going down, but I passed on it. Hindsight 20/20.
I’m still searching for motivation and direction. I keep noodling around with ideas and instruments and effects. Hoping some direction will start to look like the one I want to go in.
i wonder how that works with bitwig, since i believe some of those folks are ex-ableton.
