Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Was gonna record something but I accidentally on purpose watched a video of a guy getting stung by a Japanese Murder Hornet, so I have to go to my happy place for a little bit...
Well, you know, given all of the noise lovers on this thread here, it would be pretty easy to come up with a musical interpretation of that experience, quite easily!

Touché.

I,ve been asked a lot (hahaha, 3 times....) about my process for my noise “pieces” in this thread and by PM.
I explained one of my processes previously.

Tonight I was tweaking one of my JMT synths, like I often do.
But was lucky enough to catch on tape exactly what I was talking about when:

- I was looking for sound, textures, moods.....etc....
- listening \ reacting

You can actually hear me finding a texture I liked, try to morph the idea and go towards where the sound goes.
I felt quite weird being “aware as it happened”. I can share the clip if anyone is slightly interested.

Was just sharing cool experience.

Okay, I sold a few pedals and am once again getting GAS for a granular (I know, I know, I keep talkin' bout it). Anyone know of any deal/coupon thingies going on right now? Be fine with a Particle 2, that Mood's just outa my price range.

I had a bass deal fall through that was going to end up costing me some cash in insured shipping...so I spent the money elsewhere and finally caved and got a M O O D. I couldn't be more excited!

Just upgraded to Logic 10.5. Pretty nice upgrade if there are any Logic users here.

clearly they’re trying to catch up with some of Ableton’s electronic stuff. Clip launching, different built in sequencers and midi effects, two WAY better samplers. They still have a way to go but it’s a pretty great upgrade

cool. i've been thinking about making the jump to logic.

what do you use now? I’ve used Logic for at least 10 years now, but the upgrade is pretty major, for me at least. The amount of plugins that are included are stellar as well. At $200, I don’t think any DAW touches it in that respect.
