Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Another fun thing I got was the road rage feedback looper... feedback loopers are fun cheap noise things that can make pedals or a group of pedals feedback into themselves ...definitely check them out.

Can you tell us more about the feedback looper? I couldn't find a demo of that particular one on youtube but there are a bunch of other models out there with various features and so on. I listen to some dreamy lo-fi music sometimes like Valium Aggelein and Trouble Books and always wondered how they got those crazy lo fi glitchy sounds, and it looks like it was a device like this, or close to it.

Sounds pretty similar... most of the feedback demos on YouTube will give you an example... the road rage is a 2 in 1 kind of... put what you want in the “loop” and the left bypass is like a pure bypass would normally function. Right switch turns the feedback on and off with the knob controlling how much feedback. I like that you can then stomp on and off a “noise” but still keep that noise going if that makes sense (like if it’s oscillating you don’t need to start that up again)

I have not been able to listen to it the whole way through, but I like what I have heard so far. What’s going on here? What’s your rig like?

I apologize for my late response, I was out of town.

This is my band. We are a guitar, bass, drums trio.
We record everything we do each week and this is one of our latest jams. None of this is edited (which we probably should do.)
In this jam I decided to be the time keeper and let the other two go off. I like that one can hear where they each realize this and just go with it.
I am playing a Jazz through a Phase 90 and a Boss chorus into a split rig (wet/dry) but there is actually very little dry signal in this particular recording.
The guitarist is playing a Les Paul type guitar through a Line 6 Helix Floor unit into a Marshall JCM800 and a Line 6 Powercab Plus.
Drums are recorded dry in the room.

Thanks @monsterthompson ! The Deep Space I could see myself using-- even I got that one! LOL.
Nice pedals!

The price isn't obscene, either ($300 +$30 shipping).
Watching some Chase Bliss pedal demos. Ugh. Boo-teek stuff. I'm impressed with the design efforts, but not terribly interested in the products.

Does anyone here have experience with running multiple reverb pedals at the same time? I’d like to have a stereo reverb pedal at the end of my chain, primarily because I have a stereo delay (because ping pong). That reverb pedal would create the overall room or space feeling. Earlier in the chain, I would want something that does the shimmery reverb, like a pad.

This set up would allow me to either take advantage of the ping pong stereo delay, or allow me to run to mono instruments into the same stereo reverb space.

Is this asking for muddy trouble, or should I simply get a mixer that has a reverb DSP? I am running all of my instruments straight into the mixer, and there are vocals.

I've run multiple verbs simultaneously in stereo, and that Ventris (can't say enough good things about it) has 2 independent engines that could be set independently and in different parts of the chain, or stacked in stereo (shimmer into a large hall is actually one of my settings). it is what you'd expect it to be- huge bloom. I love it. Best kind of trouble...
