Reading the manual, found this interesting:

VAT is for sales inside Europe, however you may have customs and duties coming into the US. Seems to be less common in the US than for Canadians on international orders, but it is a thing (and there are some hilarious old TB threads where Americans are shocked, shocked, that they owe fees that their seller doesn't control).

I thought I saw something about free shipping on the Soma site (ie, it's factored into the price already) but IDK. I'm sure we'll all get emails in 6 months having totally forgotten we signed up to order this thing. By then, who knows what new toys will have appeared on pp772-840 of this thread.

it's been a fun peeing contest, but i'm sure my used BMW synth purchases can't compete with @steubig and his mortgage of Foderas. To be fair, he had those before this started.

Not really a claim, just they way I am.
I don't need much material stuff, never did.
Why, i dunno. Brain chemistry??? Genes??

Add to the fact my income does not allow me to make huge purchases like some of you. But I did make some very cool acquisitions this year. Plenty Happy with what I have.

Not complaining at all, it's just my reality.

Also, I have zero credit card debt.
That must count for something.

It’s 90 degrees in LA and my apartment is like a sauna in a greenhouse. I managed to knock out a few things and send tracks to a buddy for him to manipulate, but I’m running out of motivation to keep working with the hardware plugged in.

most (not all) of my gear has been buy and sell or gig money being churned in for almost 48 years!

I have no regrets either. And I am keen to sell off stuff I don't use. Collecting is not my thing, though I do have "too much stuff" almost by definition. My mom was a depression era baby and has no interest in material things at all.

It counts for a lot! I think the "zero credit card debt" thing is absolutely key to being safe financially, whatever you make. Debt is such a trap.

Yep.
