The resident GearSlut® in my trio showed up with this last night. Made some cool sounds. The construction quality is seriously badass, which is very encouraging since it's made by Soma, the same company who build the Cosmos I'm in the queue for.

I'm on the list for the Cosmos, too. Still going back and forth as to whether I wanna buy that, as I could certainly buy 2 or 3 pedals with that.

I can do something like that. I’m having a hell of a time getting clean fretting with position shifts. The string tension is a little high, the board is a little flat, and the strings are a little sticky. Combine that with hand placements I’m not familiar with and things are rough so far.


Edit - Keep I’m mind I’ve got uncommon muscle/nerve issues. I think players without a physical handicap would adapt more quickly. I’m over here reprogramming my shooter like Robocop after a beat down.

I'm still going to do the basic demo if I can ever get off my lazy ass.

The flat board DEFINITELY took some getting used to, but I hardly notice it now.

Badly sprained my wrist on my mtn bike vaca last week, and it's coinciding with me getting inspired again, which sucks. Playing keys was killing me the other day, and the six string was not kind to me. Stuck with 5's. Fretless intonation's a bit rusty, but usually comes back after a few runs.

But I actually played with living, breathing humans with no synths for the first time in over a year, last weekend.

My friend just got a sweet Hammond B3, invited me down for a jam, we played a bunch of funk and jazz(w/me on bass). I wanked a bit at times, having all this pent up energy, but all things considered, I did well and damn, the woodshedding's paying off. Did an actual decent solo on Song for Bilbao. All sorts of cool stuff I'd never done in mixed company successfully, before. In 35 + years of playing, it's only recently that my solos don't just sound like really bad half-assed guitar solos. I almost sound like I know what I'm doing, instead of just throwing s**t at the wall and hoping something sticks.
