Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

No problem at all. Of course it's just my opinion on what I would like to hear. 1000 people could give 1000 opinions honestly.

If your music has a deliberate sound and feel you are looking to convey and you think you have achieved that, then you did everything right. It's your composition after all.

I applaud your creativity as well as your willingness to share it.

Thank you Bassic Needs, it’s always a great thing to hear something you compose through someone else’s ears. Your honesty is highly appreciated.

Cool, but I think I'm more of a Jetsons art guy.

Hi guys…
I would really like to have your feedback about this:

Thank you in advance

I like it! If I had and critique it would be that some of the perc loops sound a bit at odds with each other…different swing which occasionally make the groove feel a bit clumsy. I really love the vocal stuff a lot, I just wouldn’t mix it quite so up front. There was some super stuff in the last minute and a have of the song, which makes me think fewer perc parts, mixed back a bit might be cooler.
Very creative track!

The resident GearSlut® in my trio showed up with this last night. Made some cool sounds. The construction quality is seriously badass, which is very encouraging since it's made by Soma, the same company who build the Cosmos I'm in the queue for.
Its russian, so……I have no freakin idea.
Launch missles?
Is it modular, semi modular?? I thinh it needs more knobs and swtiches though

edit: found it
Description / Pulsar-23 – SOMA LABORATORY

1500 euros without shipping and customs fees

I'll be the outcast, I haven't pre ordered it
Sounds amazing though, real nice color to add in the toolkit.

But!!!
The Stereo Field is still looking at me, still afraid to pull the trigger simce the sound textures seem kind of limited. The soma Enner might be cool, must listen to more clips

:(

Maybe im looking for more tools to work alone since Im pretty sick n stired of people canceling on me and half @$$ING stuff.
I need a Gear Whore buddy like @Bob_Ross. Getting tired (literally, lack of time and sleep doing everything from samples, to composing, arramging, recording, mixing…..
Did I say that I hate programming drums.
(would post meme of this but its NSFW….meh its just not TB vanilla PG.)

I hate to be that guy, but would you mind just doing a clean recording of whole notes on open strings, front and back pickup so I can hear how it sounds? The hint at the beginning of the piece has me very curious.

I can do something like that. I’m having a hell of a time getting clean fretting with position shifts. The string tension is a little high, the board is a little flat, and the strings are a little sticky. Combine that with hand placements I’m not familiar with and things are rough so far.

Edit - Keep I’m mind I’ve got uncommon muscle/nerve issues. I think players without a physical handicap would adapt more quickly. I’m over here reprogramming my shooter like Robocop after a beat down.
