Yes. People seem to like it. I have some of his other more mundane modules and find them well-made.

I only got to know the Silver Apples stuff in the past 5 years or so. So cool. Didn’t know they were such an influence on the band Suicide. Good to know

Seems more appealing for use w/ synths than bass or guitar...definitely would want to use it with external control of its filter cutoff.

That's pretty sweet, it almost seems like it'd be a better module than a pedal based on the video demo, but it is pretty gnarly how versatile it is for being so simple. Love stuff like that!

The sounds were decent in the demo. I’m full of dirt, so I’ll wait until something else pops out before my wallet needs to worry.

Yeah, I saw that; I wasn't pointing out a shortcoming (incorrectly), just saying that I'd definitely want to take advantage of that feature to maximize the pedal's usefulness. I was also most inspired by the patch where they had voltage control from the modular synth modulating the pedal's cutoff frequency.

But I agree with you: The sounds in the demo were decent ...but not groundbreaking. And I'm already set with dirt (two fulltime on my large pedalboard and another 4 or 5 in the closet waiting for those "I Must Have This One!" moments) so this Bear In Blue isn't anywhere near my GAS list. But for someone just starting to investigate their first dirt pedal it could be a worthy contender.

I'm more interested in seeing what else Pochard comes out with, based on their claimed mandate of "Sound Discovery & Modularity"

to me that thing is not about groundbreaking sound (not much of that in the distortion world that i could use, imo).

to me the cv thing was of note (and i thought might be useful for folks here) as was the filter stuff. it's a bit more about the possibility of live manipulation (exp pedal).

Dreadbox has some interesting items in this category. CV controls. Delay, reverb, compressor/filter, phaser, a stereo looper coming soon.

CV makes some stuff more desirable to me for sure
