I've pretty much owned nothing other than cheap high mileage junk for the last 30 years. Some hot rods and lifted trucks here and there, but nothing that's carting home trophies from the local shows. To date I've owned 45+ cars/trucks, and currently have 7, including the three listed above. The Saturn is the newest thing I own, and i paid a whopping $300 for it.

Damn straight the wife and I are keeping our cars as long as possible.

2007 Chevy HHR, 87,000 miles putting 20 a year on it.
Before that, I had a 1987 El Camino that I sold with 188,000 miles because the body was falling off the frame and the repairs would've cost more than the car was worth and only got 8 MPG. Engine was still running strong.

7 year old Honda Pilot with 185,500 miles. I espouse the 10 year model above. My old 93 Isuzu Trooper made it to 11 years and a mere 173,000 miles til it's gas tank and the frame it mounted to rusted out. (I loved that ole Trooper!) Before that was a '85 Plymouth Voyager van POS that lasted ony 8 years and 95000 miles.
Rid myself of a 96 Cherokee that ran like a champ but was just unsafe as the unibody had way too many holes and the rear leaf shackles had rusted away. Never burned oil. Started up no problem, left it with 278,000 miles. I have another Cherokee, this being a 2001 model, with 142,000 on the clock. This one however has a head gasket issue, and if the Blue Devil doesn't fix it, will be up for a 1500 dollar fix. Time will tell....
Have the head pressure tested while it's off, the later 4.0 heads are a lighter casting and prone to cracking.
2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, 83k miles. I plan to get a motorcycle for commuting to work (which is 5 miles at most), but otherwise I'm keeping the truck.
I tend to buy used cars about 2 years old, keep them for about two years, then trade them in for something else.
2003 VW Bettle TDI. 175,000 miles, still runs like a champ and still gets 50 MPG. Gonna hang onto it a bit longer.
That's what i keep reading. something about a 1331 cast number or something similar being crap, if I have to do a top end rebuild, that'll suck because everything else is still up there in miles....but if I keep my foot on the gas, and revs at about a grand, the pressure goes back up.
That all said, I get the chocolate milkshake in the block too, so yeah, cracked head most likely. Thanks bro!

"Sage green" KIA Sedona minivan, bought in December 2005 and still going strong. I take it in regularly for scheduled maintenance, which helps...
Mine is an '07 Hyundai Tucson with about 76K on it.
My wife, who hates to throw things away, even when it's time to do so, has two vehicles. One is a '95 Chrysler LeBaron Convertible with 110K on it. The other is a '97 Chevy Pickup that was her Dad's until he went in the nursing home. It was low mileage when we got it. But it's pretty beat now. I think it's around 100K
My daughter has an '02 Nissan Sentra with about 185K on it.
I fear the morning when all three of the old vehicles die simultaneously and I have the only reliable wheels in the family, everyone will want to use mine.
