Double Bass Amp for Electric/Upright Bass

I have made a commitment to the Wizzy 12M because it seems that is going to give me more power then the wizzy 10.

now i just need to decide on the clarus 2 or an EA head... which ever is better for doubling

If you can't make the trip over to Bob G's then at least call him. He'll help you decide and can tell you more about the different amps. He'll also give you the prices.

Might want to think about what features are most important to you. The EQ on my iAMP200 is more flexible than my Focus, but the Micro's EQ is not the same as the iAMP. For my current needs, I really dig the high pass filter and combo input jacks on my Focus.

Either one is gonna make a good sound.

Flip a coin. Both are highly regarded amps. There is nothing we can tell you here that is going to make up for hearing it in person. I think if you buy from Bob he gives you 14 days to return it if you are not happy. Buy one. Try it out. If it doesn't do it for you exchange it for t'other one.

I have both the Wiz M-line 12 and a Wiz 10 that I use w/ a Focus or my old Walter Woods.

BOTH ARE GREAT CABS!

If I had to have only one I would get he 12. Incredible for DB or BG and can get darn LOUD for a small 33 lb. box.

The 10 sounds great too, perhaps not as airy, fat and detailed sounding as the 12, but for a 17 lb. box it can't be beat for convenience and tuff load-ins. W/ a bit of low end push the DB sounds great in small to med. sized rooms. I even used it outdoors last night on a drummerless trio gig.

I have other good cabs and combo amps (Aggie, Flite, Polytone, Yorkville). None of them have seen any action outside of my house since I purchased these EA cabs.

For BG and doubling I use the 12.
Haven't tried BG thru the 10 yet.

I can add that IME the customer service from both AI and EA has been excellent and sometimes exceptional. Same w/ Bob G.
