You'll notice a slight difference between this most recent model and a pre 2005 most notably a different amp output board. Different compliment of output transistors and has twin heatsinks.
 
It's not a true bass amp, but I suppose it could be used for a low power rig, but I wouldn't rely on this one. It was given to me by a former employer who owed me (a lot).

After powering it up and smelling it I can see why he gave it away and as far as I'm concerned, he still owes me. Another tech had already replaced the apparently burned components, but I replaced several burned traces that looked like they wouldn't last long. It's still working, but I'm just using it as a playback amp in my practice room, so if/when it dies I'll junk it.

Had a friend's Marshall DSL100 apart recently and snapped a few pics. The amp was blowing HT fuses, so we tried the obvious - new power tubes. The old tubes were about 2 years old and the amp wasn't heavily used in that time, but it blew 2 HT fuses in 3 months or so. After the new tubes, it was good for another 2 months or so and then pop - HT went again.

I pulled the amp apart to clean the tube board and check for any signs of shorts.

This caught my eye and got me searching the webs for the purpose of this cap that was apparently missing.

C46 in these amps was added in the later revisions (not present in early DSL100 or any DSL50 models). It sits between the plate and screen of the power tubes, rated at 22pF/500V. Apparently they blow in many amps and take out other components so people recommend upping the voltage rating to 1000V+ or removing the cap so it doesn't blow. Looks like someone removed this cap in this amp (friend bought it used about 3-4 years ago). Reading up on it a bit it appears that the cap was added to tamp down some power amp oscillation that people were seeing. Probably the source of our blowing fuses. Waiting on the caps to arrive so I can test it out.

Top side of the tube board. The amp got wet at one point (not while in use) so I cleaned this up a bit as well to be sure that wasn't causing any issues.

Something more fun, my Sound City L120. I've made a few tweaks here and replaced a lot of out of spec/heat sensitive components in this amp along with the cap job and retube and such a while back (I think I posted progress pics in this thread). Anyways the amp has been quiet and reliable ever since. A real interesting piece and much different than my other amps.
