They have the same power supply and power amp, don't they? Seems to me I read that on TalkBass written by someone who confirmed it with G-K.
I for one was told directly by G-K that the 400RB IV and BL600 share the same power supply and power amp. Different preamp assemblies.
That amp suddenly started spewing smoke on me one time at a jam session at a friends house. Was scared to turn it back on for a few days but I finally did and it worked fine. Only had it for about 6 months or so. Needless to say my faith in it was lost so I got rid of it. Wasn't particularly fond of it to begin with. Wasn't too bass-y, too mid rang-y or too high. It was just blah. Even bought a separate rackmount EQ to try to bring some life to the sound but it was hopeless.
Is your white paper on the BL600 still available? I've always pointed new users of the amp to your website for an excellent explanation of the EQ's voicing. I checked the other day and I couldn't find it.
