I do the same; in fact, I've never used the auto-route function. I too came from drafting manually, so it was a logical move to keep on with the same method of layout. Sometimes I have to revise a few times if I paint myself into a corner, but it doesn't happen very often.

I draft all designs manually using the Pentel image processor and a large gum edit function.
I don't trust software to make a better decision on parts placement and routing than an engineer with fourty years of experience.
In other words, I'm a grumpy old analog man that doesn't trust these new-fangled sandy state thinking machines, and can't learn new tricks.

Well, those preamps probably cost more than the whole Laney combo we're talking about. Built to a price point, nothing wrong with it - the ring transformer certainly looks big enough for 120W output power.

Very interesting. Those look like Hypex UCD400 modules. What I recall looking at a datasheet is that their power ratings are quite conservative, not "peak" or any of that rubbish.
