Very interesting. Those look like Hypex UCD400 modules. What I recall looking at a datasheet is that their power ratings are quite conservative, not "peak" or any of that rubbish.

Those are the older versions of the UCD400. I have a pair just like them sitting on my bench with a power supply just waiting to be installed into something. I did a lot of work with Hypex back in the mid-late 00s and communicated directly with Bruno Putzeys on a regular basis. He's a pretty brilliant guy and super cool to boot.

Do you think the newer version modules are compatible and a direct swap with the old version? I ask because KranK is no longer and want to be able to get parts for my amp. Thanks

Yes, as far as I know they are. The basic modules are identical and I think the signal/speaker IO pins are in the same places. The new ones have slots for upgraded voltage regulators for the input circuits but otherwise I think they are the same. With any luck you won't have any issues with the power amp modules and I'd say barring a lot of abuse they will last a long time.

I gotta get mine installed in a chassis, but I have a tube preamp pedal design to finish first. :D

This is my tube preamp design in progress. Once I settle on the design, I will be cramming it into a pedal-sized enclosure. It looks like a real dog's breakfast right now, cobbled together with stuff left over from other projects but it actually does work. I'm pretty close to having the general topology figured out, then I'll design proper PCBs for it.

Make sure it has a proper Stereo-Capacitator (TM):

I wonder about the four grommets that the rectifier leads pass through. If they dry up and crack over time, as some do, it could lead to a short against the metal. A PTFE sleeve or a special grommet would help. Although with that fastener, I don't imagine that the component is going to move.
