Amp help (eden cabinets)

Hello!

I play mostly gospel and I'm looking to update my set up. I currently have a Ibanez SR505 bass with DR Lo-Riders (low B) and a 8 ohm Eden 410T cab.

I'm considering to add an Eden D115XLT (8 ohm) but confused about power delivery. Current options include an Eden WT-1205 or do a WP100 Navigator/WT1000 combo. Any help would be appreciated, I'm also open to other amp and cab suggestions.

I would consider running a 210XST under that 410. The 115XLT is a great cab but, IMO, would get buried by the 410T. IIRC, the power ratings would be pretty close on the 210XST, and the sensitivities are also close enough - 103 vs 105. If you're running a pre/power amp setup, you could balance the cabs easily though.

With the 210XST (assuming 8 ohm), would you suggest the WT1205 or a WP100/power amp combo?

Either would work, IMO.
The combination of XST with XLT, or in your case T, series cabs is a favorite among Edenites. The XLT's and T's have the characteristic Eden mid-push, while the XSTs are a bit flatter and have more low end. The combination works great.

I had the Eden 410XLT and 115XL. It was such a lopsided pairing, that I sold the 115, and bought another 410XLT.

A year later, I sold both cabs, because they are too dang heavy, and wouldn't fit in my car. I grew tired of borrowing my wife's car or asking band mates to transport my crap.

Another option would be to get a D410XLT and sell the D410T. I like the idea of a D410XLT and XST- what is the preferred amp for this combination?

However, I am concerned with transporting two 100lb cabinets, so the idea of adding a D210XST is appealing as well.

Thanks for the feedback, still not sure what to do.

Another option if you go the preamp/poweramp route, is that the WP100 Navigator should match up with pretty nicely with a non-Eden poweramp. You could save a lot of weight and $ by going with a class D, maybe a Crest Prolite or Peavey IPR poweramp.

I love the tone of my D410T, but want some more low end. A cheaper option would be just to try the D410T with a WT550/WT800 amp, or upgrade to a WT550/D410XLT combo (4 ohm).

If you're just after more low end, I think adding the 210XST would probably work. Another 410 might be overkill. Maybe the lack of lows is actually from the Shuttle 6.0. IIRC, those amps have a filter that rolls back the low end. Maybe try some EQing with the Shuttle and 410T and see what happens.

Prior to purchasing my D410T, I tried out at a D410XLT and found the T to have a warmer, more vintage type of tone, while the XLT was more of an aggressive/modern tone. Now, I'm wondering if I should just go with the XLT in 4 ohm for more lows with a WT550 amp, or continue building around my D410T.

The WT550 amp with a 4 ohm D410XLT would be the easiest way to do it, in terms of pairing with sufficient power and ease of portability. My feeling from this thread is that adding a D210XST would give me lows while still maintaining my warmer mids and highs for the D410T. One thing that I don't need is to be louder, volume wise. However if I run the D410T with a D210XST (both 8 ohm), what amp should I use?

I feel split between using a WT550 and a 4 ohm D410XLT, or adding a 8 ohm D210XST to my D410T with a ________ amp.

Not sure what amp you're currently using, but I think I got the impression from one of the earlier posts that you do have a Shuttle 6.0. If that's the case, given that you like the 410T tone, I would start there by experimenting with some different EQ settings. The Shuttle 6.0, IIRC, had a rolloff of low frequencies because they were designed to be paired with the Shuttle Series cabinets. Maybe try tweaking the EQ for more lows. There is a thread on how to do this somewhere here on TB - it involves engaging both the LOW and MID filters.
Otherwise, I think a WT550 would be a nice match with your current 410T.
