I use the Speakon cables with Neutrik connectors that came with the two GK 112 Neos I have. I've noticed fine sound coming out of the speakers.

Amp to cabinet cable, what are you using?

Carefully aged vacuum cleaner power cord, with Neutrik Speakons and/or Amphenol 1/4" plugs. Happy electrons make better tone.
Heavy lamp cord from an actual lamp, 1/4" Switchcraft plugs from a Belkin patch cable. Will upgrade to Speakon ends now that my rig has Speakons on both ends.

Good soldering iron and being able to solder is the biggest deal. Best thing about making your own is using proper lead solder that makes for better joints and is less prone to cracking.
As are the guys with coffee table basses and boutique amps and cabs and high dollar cars and big houses. Whatever makes you happy is what's best! Me, I'm so broke I can't even pay attention.

I have a pair of 12 gauge LiveWire cables with oversized 1/4" plugs. They seem to work pretty well. All my gear is 1/4" except my 2 Trace cabs which also have the weird "XLR" inputs. I have the XLR cables to go with them, but no old-school Trace head to use them with. Any thoughts on the relative merits of the XLR cables?
And Speakons are an even smaller deal. Everyone has a knife and a scewdriver and knows how to use them.
