amp without controls to just be everything you want

im sorry. how can you guys not understand that if you want “imperfections”, fine, but then that simply equates to what is perfect for you.

this amp does everything, exactly as you prefer, including as mentioned above.

it upsets me to see so many people saying my amp isn’t going to happen because of XYZ, but what nobody’s seeing, is that you’re actually just bringing to light more specific details that need attention is all. thanks for the data; you’re being mined by bots and all your special requests will be fulfilled.

It pains me to read maaaany of your comments that completely miss-understand, and overlook some fine details in the description of necessity i have provided

we’re talking about a life here, not at all heaps of yesterday’s e-waste

Actually, I don't think you are understanding how obtuse and disjointed your questions and suggestions are, nor how they do not relate to the bass player's world. Perhaps you do not understand, or care to understand why what you are suggesting is not only impractical but unwanted?

There is a whole industry that works very hard, too hard, trying to find solutions to problems that do not exist.

LOL!!! Considering you just said this to a man who's had a hand in designing bass amps thousands of bass have used I'd say the above statement applies very directly to you my friend. Unless you're truly insane (and I'm not discounting that at all) you'll step away from the keyboard and go build your little bad idea.

With respect, the problem is you provided no details (forget the fine ones) in your original post other than "can do, must do, will do anything and everything, anywhere" (and I'm just going to assume "anytime" as a derived requirement). Admittedly I only have 41 years of systems engineering experience related to some of the most advanced technologies/systems that ever existed, but for the life of me I can't find a thing in your description that any engineer could even begin to hang their hat on.

Bounding a problem statement, deriving and establishing preliminary requirements, and then understanding the trade space they define to begin conceptualizing solutions and refining those requirements is simply not possible in your characterization of what you're looking for IMO. As an aside, I would not be interested in this imaginary product as a bass player, but there are lots of things I've helped design that I'd never be a user of and it's never been an issue in the past.

IMO you simply have too many variables you haven't identified, let alone considered, to even begin to say you've offered fine details. To me your design challenge sounds more like: I need a box to perform an unspecified/unbounded electronic miracle without user input and without specifying what is up- stream (bass/input) or down-stream (speaker cab(s), DI, both??),...oh yeah and it magically needs to adapt to what anyone using it and/or in the audience/at the mixing console wants to hear (miracle two and/or three).

You see the problem we mere mortal engineers are having here? :rollno:

Respectfully, you might want to do some quick research and find out who you just said that to. Here's a hint: it's almost like saying that Einstein or Tesla didn't know the first thing about physics.

I may not be relatable to many (most) of you, yet I’ll put this out there; anyone honestly holds necessary pre-skill set and can demonstrate as such, who also believes in infinity, shoot me a PM because it’s doubtful I’ll continue to post here in this thread

I'll grant that there was a time in our relatively recent past that we thought the world was flat, that the earth was the center of the universe, that speeds of the early steam locomotives would be too much for the human body to endure, and that the speed of sound could never be exceeded. Most innovation starts with the premise that our current boundaries and limitations are simply that, current and not written in stone for all time. I would argue that most all learning begins a with a question - we heard your question, and now is the time to think about how people responded and learn.

I can relate to your sense of imagination and willingness to challenge boundaries. Your initial post started an 8 page conversation and had participation of some of the most distinguished and talented engineers/designers I know in this business and other areas of technology. If you're truly a pioneer and person of vision, you'll take what's been said to heart and perhaps reformulate your concepts and next questions. You may be on to something, and the feedback you've gotten has been interesting to me and hopefully somewhat illuminating for you.

Final thought...Google "Chester Carlson" and see if you can relate to him. I can assure you that Kodak and 20 other companies couldn't, and the world eventually proved him right. For folks where you are today (after 8 pages), his story may be inspirational. Some version of your vision may have applicability somewhere, but you need to hear what experts are telling you, think about what that means in terms of moving forward, and re-engage with those lessons learned. I hope that's helpful advice.

I can 100% see black for death metal, but shouldn't a general purpose bass for metal be like metallic silver/chrome?
