Ampeg B-4R Bass Head

Hello Friends,

I'm looking into getting into getting a B4R Head. Can anybody help sum up the tone of the head. Or give me some advice concerning it??

Made in China now, designed overseas as well. I would not support a public company that bought Ampeg and Crate just for the names. There is nothing "Ampeg" about these new ones. Go find a used Ampeg made in Yellville, AR and then you'll have something to enjoy for the rest of your life.

oh wow thanks for that bit. I'm actually looking at a used one to buy. I'll be sure that it was made in the USA before purchasing. would you happen to know when the US manufacturing ended??

wellll.... that first happened like 40 years ago & has happened quite a few times since then. SLM, who sold off the Ampeg brand name to LOUD, bought the name in the 80's.

yeah... i know that has nothing to do with the amp... just pointing out a little factoid
