Ampeg B15R flip top?

Right, F. Mine's a 64 B-15NC, bass and treble in a Baxandall stack. The mid knob is a new thing. Is it vital? Not on my B-15 it's not. The Baxandall circuit is so intuitive and so musical on bass that it's easy to dial up anything you want out of it, even without a mid knob.

Jess Oliver recommended any speaker that had much more wattage than the factory speaker that came in the Ampeg B 15R. Even with the EV 15L speaker, that I installed I still was not happy with the sound. Now, that I have installed the Eminence Kilomax 15A it's made a great difference. It can handle anything bass that I plug in. From my Fender Precision, Ampeg 1970 Dan Armstrong, Ampeg AEB scroll, AMB1 and my Ampeg Baby Bass. Now, my B15R is perfect. I have been offered $2,000.00 for it and I will not give it up. It's the ultimate amp.

is the Eminence Kilomax 15A really THE speaker for the portaflex? I got once recommended (here somewhere) an Eminence L15A (or LF15A).
Which one is better suited for this sealed cabinet??

(( I myself did not like the original and put in an Eminence Neodym, ( I guess a 2515,but not sure). This is better now but I do not like it so much. ))

You mean the Kilomax Pro 15a? That's a subwoofer speaker and is wholly unsuited to a bass cab. In Portaflex cabs, the Delta and Beta 15a are often mentioned as good replacement speakers. However, while I have a couple Deltas in my B-15 repro cabs, they're the ported double baffle cabs and not the sealed B-15R cab, so I can't tell you for sure if they'll work.
