Ampeg BA210v2 rattle (vibration)

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced a rattle from this combo. I have narrowed it down to the metal tray the amp components are on. I tighten all screws on the top but the rattle persists.
I've also tried to put cardboard under the amp since there is a small space between the cab and amp.

Any ideas?

That was an old BA210SP that was made years ago, but the truth never stopped you before so whatever. But as usual, nice of you to come along and goof on a dude having problems with his amp.

Does this rattle happen on every note, or does it happen on certain notes? If only on certain notes, there could be loose padding inside your cab flapping around. Pull a speaker, look inside, and reattach any flapping padding with a staple gun or double sized tape. It could also be something inside like a wire physically touching a speaker cone.

It's happening on all notes. It is the amp housing that is rattling. I ended up folding a piece of this cardboard and put it in the space between the amp and the box. It seems to have stopped it. Not sure how permanent of a solution this will be though.

You could probably find something more elegant to do the job, but if it works, it works.

Hardly. He bought it used. And I'd hardly call a chassis rattle that was fixed with a piece of cardboard a "broken amp." Besides, the previous owner could have dropped it or banged it and caused it. Might not have been anything Ampeg did at all.

I worked on another type of amp for a friend - and similar to this - the tolex had peeled back around the port and buzzed/fluttered making a pretty fuzzy buzzy kind of noise.

If the housing/chassis is vibrating against the box - try some weather stripping - like a gasket - that should help
