Sounds like your setup is right for the sound you're looking for (classic ampeg/fender combo). Although 275 solid state watts @ 8ohms is not a ton of power for bass. Honestly the 4Pro or the Classic are the amps that will have the sound you want, but really you should just bring your bass to a couple of music stores and play everything that you can get your hands on, forgetting what name is on it. It does come down to the player and what sounds right to your ears. And on the 8x10 argument, i dunno, its individual pref as far as I can see. I use either 2 1x12's or 2 DB115's depending on venue and cannot get that sound out of an cab with 10's. **Most important of all, get a DI that you like and make sure you use it all the time, no sense in having a nice rig only to have your bass plugged into the sound guy of the nights 25$ DI before your amp, or rely on the DI on your amp to sound right every night (yes some can I know but in general). Tonehammer, Microbass, and the Ampeg DI are great choices, just need to find the one that speaks to you.

Cool man. My cab is 450 watts at 4 ohms though. But thank you! I feel like my set up is fairly decent.
