Yup, that's Tony Levin checking them out.

I'm not sure if these were posted yet:

I really do like the new faceplate on the Heritage SVT-CL:

They made up some nice inspection tags to go with these, and some will allegedly be signed by sponsored artists who are on hand when they get play tested.

There are some cool badge plates for the back, too.

We heard the new Ampeg gear yesterday, and I was honestly impressed. The Heritage head and cabs do sound really great. I'm not sure how much was the head and how much was the cab, but I do think that folks who are really into Ampeg will hear a difference.

Of course people will hear a difference between one SVT beeing equipped with Sovteks and the other with JJ/winged C.

I honestly doubt the reason is within the different cloth/faceplate or the assembling in the US versus China.

:smug:

I clearly see the point of the strategically worded "Designed and Assembled in the USA" catchphrase. I personally am willing to give these products a legit shot to impress me. My SVT-VR from Vietnam is an awesome head, and much prefer it over the USA SVT-CL and USA 6Pro that I owned prior.

Of course, I've spent enough time on this forum to know that many posters won't let go of certain talking points. The products themselves will decide in time ...

well thats too funny. The site says designed and assembeld in USA. Leaving one to believe the componets were manufactored over seas and shipped here to be assembeld. It's pretty much an oversea's product.

As far as I can tell, Some LOUD employees up north just wanted some special project to do.

Limited editions is a smart move. But they ought to stop selling the overseas ones. They're only cheaper. They need to ramp up the demand for the limited editions by making the common scarce. It's not like they're doing a Lexus, Toyota, Scion offerings here - they're the same amps.

I would still would like to know what difference it makes on the warranty. 90 days for premium tubes I bet. 5 Years on everything else?

I think they've been positioning some of the high-end gear in that manner, given it's apparently been next to impossible to track down a new VT or CL even from overseas since last year. But, given the limited production numbers I don't think the overseas versions are going to completely disappear yet.
