I develop measurement gear for my day job, and one lesson I've learned is that making a measurement is 1% of the work, while knowing that it's really measuring what you think it's measuring is 99%. There are a lot of pitfalls when making an audio measurement, especially when you're using a DIY setup to measure a DIY design. How do you know what's real?Certainly there is a lot of measurements made, but from what I have seen on the internet speaker sites, there's no shortage of bad data, improperly acquired data and completely illogical conclusions made.
It's like developing perpetual motion machines, the less you understand, the easier it is to become a "believer"

Not to mention, that the signal from the speaker terminals of an amp can toast your computer, even if the volume is turned all the way down. That happened to me once.
It may very well be that the learning experience of having to understand the basics of signal measurement is a worthy pursuit in its own right, if it can be done safely.

I've also played through that Ampeg cabinet. Up close, it's very hard to hear it - so the tendency is to turn it up louder. Then everyone 50-100 feet out (and beyond to a degree) will feel a bit sick from the SPL because it takes a long room to carry a cabinet like that and because of the amount of power you have to push through it to hear anything up close. I don't remember it having much really low bass. It was mostly upper-bass and had almost no definition (ie, no sound above about 700Hz)...
It's almost as if you've scavenged my really old rehearsal spaces ... bringing back lots of memories.
Does that one have the impedance switch?
