From just now listening to your YT clip of you playing through the amp, my impression is that you are closer to the start of your bass career than towards the pinnacle, and suggests to me that your time would be better spent playing more than hours of posting repetitive pics of obsolete amp designs on some internet forum. Gear only gets one so far. Operative word here is 'impression', which is non-negotiable.
It also essentially rendered for me this entire thread as pointless waste of whatever time I spent on it. Unwatched.
That clip wasn't me playing. That was somebody else who posted that clip, and I was only commenting how there is very little out there on the Isovent. I am already much better a bass player than the person in that video.
My only point is, when I go to YouTube, that is literally the Only Video on the Isovent, and maybe perhaps down the road I will add a few more.
Moreover, in having made a few postins on Talkbass previously, given my issue with this Isovent, I began this thread regarding my difficulty with the Isovent, and a few of you have been of genuine assistance concerning the Isovent, the rest of you seem to be a gang on here who follow one or two gurus, and are poking a bit of fun at me, and so rhis thread kind of took a strange directions as we went along. You guys had as much to do with that as I did.
In terms of practicing bass, I play just about every day, I now read music in both Bass and Treble Clef, and even though I am a late starter, I have always wanted to play bass, and now is my time. I am nowehere near as good as Pastorius or Trujillo, or many others, but I have Determined myself to doing rhis, and doing this I will. In having done Other Endeavors in life, and to one degree or another achieved a certain level of competency and proficiency, I am sure my playing bass will begin to reach some level.where I feel I am beginning to get somewhere with it, but I asaure you, I am nowhere yet where I want to be with it, NOT even close, but as I continue working towards where I want to take it, I also decided to have some fun with a little bit of gear, and I only asked you guys for some help in figuring out what is going on with this Isovent.
This isn't a Do or Die situation, the World isn't going to crack in two, the sky isn't going to fall, and this is sure as Hell NOT Mortal Combat.
I am just a guy asking you all for some.assistence in trying to figure out how to solve this problem with this dag gone Isovent.
We haven't got to take this all out into Left Field and Outta the Ball Park.
This is just an Isovent.
That's all it is.
An Ampeg Isovent.
And a couple of you did give me.worthwhile advise which led me to conclude I should Remove the Crossover and have it ReWired.
From there we will see what we get and after figure out what to do next.
This is just a Fun Project and NOT the End of the World.
In the meantime, after napping on a rare weekend for me, I am about to do some.practicing on bass.
I have been working a fair amount of overtime at my job and I am enjoying a little R&R here at home on the rare.occasions we have a full weekend off.
So relax.
It is just an Ampeg Isovent.
Somehow this Isovent seems to have driven all of you clear out of your minds.
