Not me. I don't wanna work in an amp factory. Too much work & not enough profit. I wanna write & sell rock hero software. That's gotta be like finding a pot of money in your basement.

Will I have to use a smaller bass?

I plan on playing a Mustang Bass or SG Reissue through my Micro VR stack. Oh...and I'll have a little person playing it as well...not me...I'll just watch.

hey, if it sounds good, i'd be considering it as a fun and inexpensive way to get the ampeg tone for smaller shows/practices

but then again, it would have to be better than a VT Bass into teh effects return jack of a micro head

I vote give it a chance. Until someone actually plays one (and the matching cab), it's a little unfair to slag it off already. I think it would make a great practice amp!

I think it looks pretty cool. I could see it being a great amp for situations where a small, unobtrusive setup is desire. At 200W, it should be more powerful than my Crate Power Block.

Agreed. Even if it were only 50 watts, but all tube, it would have been way cooler than this.

Can we petition the "Ampeg" marketing department to not call anything hybrid or solid state a SVT? And certainly not to put anything solid state in anything resembling a real SVT head?

Call me a purist but its not an SVT.

im not an ampeg fan(anymore). but it still eats at me when SVT is thrown around like its all ampeg puts out....

Here's what would have been really cool: a mini-SVT with a tube preamp and 1 power tube, with a dummy load, into a ~200w SS power amp. That would have been a real mini-SVT.
