They tend to not loose a lot of value on the used market. With a sale price, it's better to buy a new amp that comes with a full warranty.
Retailers have trouble keeping them in stock. Sweetwater is currently taking orders while waiting for their next shipment to arrive.

Yep, I went to local GC to try one, but none were to be had, including the 20T. I would like to try one out in a studio setting. Really could not use one on the gig.
Im with Marty on this one, you can pry mine from my cold dead hands. I paid new price at sweetwater when they came out, which is looking like a great deal as MSRP was closer to $1000 when new. I think i paid around $800.
If you can find a demo from any of the online retailers, that will be your best deal! Havent looked for one lately, and Im not surprised they are back-ordered! I think i had to wait a couple months for mine after ordering!
Alternatively, snag one with promotional financing like i did! free money for 2-3 years is a no brainer...

I've spent ages looking for one in Germany. Found a PF20-T on ebay. Got it ridiculously cheap (I just placed a bet to get the notifications), found out it won't do with those 20 Watts and sold it off with a nice profit.
It was at that exact moment when the price for the 50 suddenly dropped from 1100 to 800, that's when I pulled the trigger for a new one.
I have been monitoring the used market ever since, not as tight as I did when I was actively searching for one, but still.
These amps don't show up used overly much. They are in fact pretty rare.

I notice two sold last month on TB; one for $575 plus shipping and the other for $625 shipped. I think those are good deals. And then there is @FarkusSWR's deal, which is somewhere beyond good.

When it comes to tube heads, if it’s it’s something still in production, I’d prefer to buy either a new one or a dealer demo with full manufacturer’s warranty - unless it were in mint condition and the asking price was at least a third off the street price. However, that’s not what a PF-50T in mint condition is likely going to be selling for.
Hey, I kinda like theses amps. But tell me, if you're not using one in a Portaflex cab, how exactly does one carry it about? I always picture myself gingerly carrying it into the bar like a delicate birthday cake.
I've seen some folks on TB say that they use a QSC K8 tote bag to carry their PF-50T amp.

I got an ok deal on a used PF-20t and I like it a lot. It probably won't do for a zero PA support show, but using it as a DI or micing the cab will probably fair fine. If I wanna use one at shows I'll get a V4B reissue. An SVT would be great, but I doubt I could lug that around lol.
