Ampeg pf-800

Just got mine today! Its's paired with my PF410Hlf :bassist:

Sounds great. The 800, even though at 8ohms only gets another 100 watts from the amp over the 500 seems quite a bit beefier.

I have a 4ohm SWR cab I will test it with to make sure there is no issues there. So far I am loving it~

Interesting comment, because I kind of feel the same way about the PF350 vs the Micro VR. It's the same preamp in each, and to me they sound identical, but when I need to give it a little gas, I notice the extra headroom in the PF350. Same thing only on a much smaller scale ;)

well I did it and ordered the PF -800 amp !!!!! :bassist:

Me as well. :hyper: Just ordered it tonight after giving it a try and being very pleased. Coupled it will the PF 1X15 450W cab which sounded very sweet with it when I tried it and plenty loud. I tried the PF350 as well, but was not able to dial in just the right tone that I was looking for. The PF-800 was wonderfully versatile, and hopefully will not have the issues the PF-500 had. There is a two year warranty, of course, but hopefully, I won't need it.

A lot of money for me to spend on something. I think my new rig is worth more than my car at this point!

money well spent !! :bassist:

I hope you lugs will give us some gig reports on the pf-800. I have a pf-350 that I'm using for the small gigs that I get. Some day, if I ever get a big gig, I'll need a big gig rig. I don't think getting a pf-500 would make sense, but the pf-800 would. So, tell us about them gigs, will ya?

heres a vid using my pf 500 with the pf 410 and pf 210 cabs .... luv the sound but with the pf 800 , will have more headroom !!! :bassist:

If I recall correctly, I remember a gentleman (Sorry I forget his name-Not Dino) at NAMM 2013 saying that the Ported PF cabs were designed to go with the PF800. I'm pretty sure they already make a sealed 410 though in the classic line.
You can use the PF800 with the PF 115's and 210 if you're careful about volume. You just won't be cranking it all the way up unless you like replacing speakers.

So after owning my PF800 for over a month now with Zero Issues (xpt GAS for another PF410hlf) I am very pleased to say that the PF800/PF410hlf is a very very solid setup. Gigged it up a couple times with octave pedals and distortion and it handled it all very well. I read a comment recently, where someone stated the PF410 gets honky in the mids when you crank it up. I have yet to notice this......

It just sounds Deep and Growly to my ears. I am so glad I gave the PF line another shot. What a great looking and sounding setup. Did I mention I love the look of this rig? =P
