Question: do you send the signal from the SGT into the board, or an amp?Back in the studio today cutting another track. Can't say enough good things about the tone w/ the SGT-DI.

I could be wrong but wouldn’t the headphone jack on the pedal override the output? If so, you’d need to plug into the Scarlet.
Straight to the board.Question: do you send the signal from the SGT into the board, or an amp?
Thanks. Makes sense.Straight to the board.
Run SGT into Scarlett an use phone audio from Scarlett to monitor it. Pretty straightforward, IMO.Picked one of these up as a Christmas gift to myself and it’s exactly what I’ve wanted this entire time. The tones this thing gets was the missing piece. My wife also paid for half of a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 so I can start recording. So if I want to play the Ampeg through that so sound comes out of my MacBook should I connect XLR SGT>Scarlett but then where do I connect my headphones and bass? I just want to run the pedal direct so trying to ignore my amp for now. This is my first foray into recording and DI stuff so sorry for the questions but thank you for any pointers!

However, you could bypass Scarlett if you do not want to record something. Just plug phone out from mackbook into SGT aux in, and the plug you phones into SGT phone output. I had Shift Line Olympic preamp, and use it this way. Most comfortable for jamming and practice. Just notebook and preamp.
Don't sweat it. As a fellow noob, it's taken me some time to figure out the ins and outs of all of this too. That’s what I thought but wasn’t getting Audi so I thought I did something wrong. I changed my music area around to make recording easier so I’ll give it a try again later. I know I’m not that incompetent lol

I do the same and it works great. This is what I'm doing all the time at home. My favorite feature is that I can practice with this at home using audio from the laptop, and take the same pedal out to play. Going direct, the sounds just work. Makes life pretty easy.
Yes, as far as I know.If the compressor dial is fully counter-clockwise, is this it 100% switched off?
How does the SGT-DI take drive pedals and the like before it? I've been reading it doesn't like hot signals
It acts like an amp in the sense that the more you put into it, the more gain sound you get from the SGT circuit. It handles hot signals fine but a few of my passive basses hit it hard enough that I can’t get a clean tone even when SGT is rolled way down. Of course I can turn the SGT off, but what fun is that. A compressor or something to control the level in front works for those bases, but a built in input pad switch would eliminate the need. How does the SGT-DI take drive pedals and the like before it? - I don't care much for the SVT or B15 tones with the gain pushed much beyond 9 o'clock. However, at the 9 o'clock mark, both circuits add a noticeable and tasty tone to the mix.
I'm a few weeks in to working with the SGT-DI. Here are a few impressions:
Cons
- I didn't like any of the CAB IRs. Even after making pre-amp adjustments, the high end just gets too muffled. I tried importing other IRs and tweaking IR settings in the app, but never found anything that improved the overall tone.
