Hello can anyone tell me how to setup and run the Ampeg DI into a Fender Rumble 2X10 cabinet. wanting to run it as a backup amp. any info would be helpful.

You would need a power amp between the preamp and the cab.
A "regular" amp has a preamp section (gain, and EQ) and a power amp section (master volume). The SGT DI is a preamp, but there's no power amp in it, so you can't use it directly with a passive cabinet.

Unfortunately, there are not many power amps for bass.

A power amp is a power amp as long as it meets your needs for wattage; it doesn't care if you're driving a PA, a guitar cab, a bass cab, or any combination of the 3 (assuming you have the channels).

To the OP, I run my SGT-DI into a QSC GX5 power amp, driving my SVT-410hlf cabinet. Absolutely love the rig. But yeah, you're gonna need a power amp.

EDIT:
One thing you CAN do (and I used to do this before getting the QSC), if your current bass amp has a Power In or Effects Return jack, you can hook the SGT-DI into that jack, and completely bypass the onboard preamp. That way, you've essentially turned your bass amp into a power amp, and are now using the SGT as your pre.

I will give this a try but in mean time any suggestions on an affordable power amp?
