It now sounds like everything I hoped for! I can finally justify spending this much on an amp.

Did you receive any explanation as to why the capacitors failed? Sounds rather peculiar.

My suspicion is that this '240V Conversion' promised to me by an ebay seller never actually happened. Perhaps the capacitors were damaged when the unit was plugged into a source double the voltage it was designed to run on. Although, it also blew a fuse when I first turned it on, so maybe that explanation doesn't work.
