Ampeg SVT 50th Anniversary Edtition

Me either. For gigging purposes, I would rather have a modern version SVT that's based [generally] on the vintage SVT.

But I should just shut up, because I can no longer lift an 85 pound amp like I used to!
Me neither, and all my gigs lately are such that I'd totally get a ration of crap if I showed up with that and an 810. But they all love the little PF stuff!

How many circuit changes did Fender Twins have?

Quite a few I'm sure.

My brother bought a 65 reissue Twin for his son. He also owns vintage blackface and silverface Twins. He hated the sound of the 65 reissue amp so much that he eventually sent the chassis off to Allesandro Amps to be rebuilt using the original tag board construction methods. My brother seems much happier with the sound of the amp now.

Sweetwater updated me and said mine should ship the end of this month.

As of today (11/5/19) both sites are back to saying “expected to ship 02-07-2020”
I really want to know what is the reasoning for the constant back and forth with the ship date.

Update: (Round & round we go again) Guitar Center and Musicians Friend site now says
“Expected to ship 12-16-2019”
Anyone wanna start a pool to pick the date for when the first Talkbasser posts “I’ve got one!”?
I’ll pick 11/27, no 2/20, wait, maybe 12/19,no, how about 12/3, and I hope it’s me!

Has anyone placed an order for one of these in Canada? I am currently running a VR into an 810 and the VR is just a bit too clean for my liking.

I spoke to my local L&M about ordering one but haven't pulled the trigger. They quoted $3,599.99 for the 50th anniversary model versus $3199.99 for the Heritage version (I asked for a quote on both to compare price).

Product number is HSVT50TH.

Um, no?

:D

I'm sure there's a plenty good reason, but nope. Those Yamaha types are very thorough and they don't like releasing product that isn't 100% ready.

Musicians Friend currently says, "New Item! Expected to Ship 02-14-2020." I won't be surprised if this date is pushed further into the future.

Hopefully Yamaha will get it together, as IMHO a company does a lot of damage to their reputation and goodwill when they create hype and excitement around vaporware.

Yeah, Yamaha really needs to get their act together, huh? They only make every type of musical instrument in the world plus a million other things and it's all quality stuff.
