The SVT II plus 215 is the resident bass rig at the bike club where I’m in the house band. We rarely play elsewhere and if we do, there are plenty of muscle in the club to help us.
I use the SVT 7 with another band and we travel light(er).

Hey all,I’m curious to know which Cabinets folks are using.I run my working man 210 and 115 @8 ohms (they’re 350 watts ea)
I get the best results and peace of mind from my 90sBassman pro 810 - it’s 4 ohm.Although cool looking it’s complete overkill at most of our shows.
What are you guys loving cab wise?

For home practice, I'm liking my SVT-410HE sitting on top of another unplugged cabinet. If we get our practice space back, I may buy another 410HE for the floor cab. If we ever play live again I may go with my Ampeg V4 412 with bass speakers in it. One 410HE would probably work, but can I really let the guitarists upstage me on speaker area with their half-stacks?
I know there are good sealed 610s out there, but Ampeg should make one. Some enterprising individual should start building them. Let the buyer put the Ampeg badge on themselves or something to avoid legal issues...
I wonder what a good cab would be to convert into an "Ampeg" sealed 610...
I don’t care whether a cab is sealed or not, I only care about the sound. Ampeg 610 has the sound. However, I wouldn’t get one unless it was made by loud or Yamaha. The older ones our boom boxes, but the more recent onesAre awesome as far as I’m concerned. Just my opinion.
I used to use one of my PF115LF cabs, but mostly the 810 Heritage.
Agreed.The SvT 610 HLF is a great cab that I’ve ran with my 7pro.I believe it was early 90s.I’ve never owned one but see them pop up used quite a bit.
I had a Svt 410 HE cab that was 500 watts with nice crisp eminence legends in it.I had it for several years and it was killer with the 7pro.I used it a lot in 2018,then I plugged it in and it was crap.farting out and I had to quickly borrow.
I took a look at it the next day and as I was pulling the back off I noticed it had become the 200 watt classic version.I remembered a comment from the bass player of another band at our last show about our matching cabs.(I don’t remember him mentioning his intention to upgrade his rig at my expense)Maybe it was an accident.IDK..Ive gotten over the anger and use it for home practice with my old B2R...
It's all tube power section. It's just different. Better to some, not as good to others
The Ampeg 610?
I've only used one once or twice, but liked it!
I can’t say I have the scratch to try out all the cabinets I’d like to but, I use a:
SWR Goliath Jr III (2x10, 350w @ 8ohm)
on top of a permanently-borrowed:
Hartke VX410 (4x10, 400w @ 8ohm)
and never have a problem drowning out my two metal band guitarists’ full stacks.
Sounds great to my ears, the SWR handles the bite real well and the Hartke pushes the air real efficiently. A Broughton HPF right before the Ampeg’s input keeps the muddy frequencies out.
for the SVT 7, i’ve got a 300W Eden 1x10” that i love for practicing in my tiny apartment, but for live shows i would also recommend the sealed svt 410he, or two of them.
i’ve separately owned an ampeg SVT 8x10 and later an SVT 2x15, and I really missed that punchy growl out of the 10” speakers.
I currently have an Orange 4x10 that I love, but wouldn’t normally recommend just because of the price, but I got an insane deal on it. Otherwise, I’m really dying to try a modern 2x12” like a Mesa Subway or a Bergantino and see how they compare to these old monster cabs I’m used to.

I love that goliath 210!!here are my SWR cabs with the 7pro I use a MXR 10 band eq in the effects loop.Because,depending on the stage the room (or any other number of as yet unknown Goblins)If I push it the 7 pro can lose headroom and the bottom end will distort.It gives me some more frequency roll off to get dialed in ya know??

I think I see. I thought you were talking about the amp distorting. Actually you were talking about the cabs right? Or I'm still missing something?

I never liked 15 or 18" cabs. They feel slow and lack of dynamics IME.
