I've been lusting over a 7 pro for year but haven't pulled the trigger cause of all the problems with reliability.

The reliability problems have been over, by and large, since 2015.

As stated above, the reliability issue has long since been resolved (and yes, I have an older one and had to send it in to get fixed) and not a single problem since. The newer ones won't have a problem at all.

Bought mine new from Yamaha about a year and it's never missed a beat. Great Ampeg sound.

I just used my 7 pro this weekend, it is an early model so I keep expecting the board to die, but it keeps ticking with no issues.

Hey all,I'm curious to know which Cabinets folks are using.I run my working man 210 and 115 @8 ohms (they're 350 watts ea)

I get the best results and peace of mind from my 90sBassman pro 810 - it's 4 ohm.Although cool looking it's complete overkill at most of our shows.

What are you guys loving cab wise?

My 7Pro has been paired with a Mesa 4x10 since 2010. I can feel the growl in the backs of my knees. But I'm thinking of switching to a Barefaced cab - any tips?

600W, but I haven't ventured past 2 o'clock on the master. Especially with the Dingwall!

Driving two Barefaced BB3s. Sounds great, INCREDIBLY loud (and clear) for a pair of 12s.

The Dingwall is the best bass I have owned. The big contrast between the series and parallel pickup switch positions makes it very versatile. But to be honest I'm still on a tone hunt. I've renovated my MTD Z5 and put flats on it. And I use my Samick fretless 5 with semi-rounds quite a bit too (although I hate its headstock!). For the covers I am playing these days, I could use more of a Nick Campbell/Pomplamoose sound.

Yeah it's tough when you have to cover a lot of different tones.I am an original songs guy and have always used my Fender Ps and pedals so it's pretty much set it and gn the odd cover we make them our own.I still use my Sunn head with the 7 pro and blend wet/ dry.with 3 cabs. I lift with my legs a d use a skateboard.....

I had one of these not too long ago but ultimately felt that the Darkglass Microtubes v2 900 was more my "voice". That said, I do miss the 7Pro. I know that Ampeg has their Classic analogue and combo SCR-DI pedals, but do they come close to the 7Pro? I've been watching for the Sushi box (SBVT) and Broughton's (SV-Pre) versions, but those are either a price premium/tough to come by.
