Ampeg SVT 7 Pro Club

I had one of these not too long ago but ultimately felt that the Darkglass Microtubes v2 900 was more my "voice". That said, I do miss the 7Pro. I know that Ampeg has their Classic analogue and combo SCR-DI pedals, but do they come close to the 7Pro? I've been watching for the Sushi box (SBVT) and Broughton's (SV-Pre) versions, but those are either a price premium/tough to come by.

DG and Dingwall go together. It is the bass sound that defined "djent". Not to say Ampegs don't work with Dings, just that most who get a Dingwall are looking for the Ding/DG sound.

The SV-Pre is awesome. If you can't find one that's affordable, I'd probably go with Sansamp pre instead.

My profile picture is actually an Ibanez EHB multi-scale, not a Dingwall, but I agree. I've upgraded the pickups to Aguilar DCBs for extra clarity so probably closer to the expected Ding sound than a stock EHB with the Barts. Running it through the 7Pro produced that great low-mid Ampeg grunt without much knob fiddling at all. But I'd probably only want it 30-40% of the time. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for the SV-Pre for an on-demand solution.

Il suono è davvero molto potente.
La qualità del suono non è male ma in un locale pieno di ubriachi andrà benissimo.
Ma se ho bisogno di un vero suono di qualità Ampeg, penso che porterò ancora con me il mio vecchio (anzi molto vecchio) V-4B

L'SVT 7Pro si adatta molto bene a un mix. Non riesco a immaginare di aver bisogno o di voler portare mai più un vero amplificatore per basso a valvole di potenza. Mi piacciono i suoni moderni, quindi potrei pensare diversamente se avessi bisogno di suonare vintage... Ho usato un traduttore quindi mi scuso se la traduzione è sbagliata.

I noticed something that probably depends on the dynamics management of the class D amplifier.
I have found a noticeable increase in the volume of the harmonics on my bass, so much so that I sometimes have difficulty controlling them.
Is it just me or has anyone else experienced the same thing?

Can’t say I ever noticed it, but that also may be because I was Team Ampeg since 1978.

I don't think I have noticed this. However, I tend to lower the highs on my Ampegs.

Can the SVT 7pro be made to sound like an SVT 3pro, or Visa Versa?
I am familiar with the SVT 3 pro's ability But wish to go a little lighter and maybe get a little more headroom.
I have two Class D amplifiers right now. They are great ,but they seem to lack the deeper bottom that my SVT3 pro has.

I love massive low end tones, and the 7 pro does that in spades!

I have the SVT-7 PRO and have wondered the same thing. I still haven't done a proper A/B test with my other amps as I'm still refining other parts of my signal chain (and don't have a recording interface right now). I should have a better answer in the next few months. I've wondered if the 7 PRO preamp imparts a certain brightness.
