Yesterday I heard a good band with a very solid bassist playing a Dingwall through a Genz to two-Ampeg 210's stacked up tall. Sounded really good, solid and warm. In fact, I was impressed by how much those cabs can be pushed. I was like man, that guy has great tone. I really dug it. Then this morning, I used two of my basses that each cost less than half that Dingwall into my SVT-7 Pro into my Ampeg 810E and remembered how delicious my rig is. I'm reminded every time I play through it. The SVT-7 Pro is legit.

I have/had a bunch of stuff: Demeter, GK MBF800, Arkham Beast, Mesa WD-800. All excellent stuff. And the Ampeg SVT7 pro hangs with it all. The fancy is a bit noisy. It's not a light-as-a-feather unit (which I like). And it's not super loud for 1000W. But that Ampeg tone just sits in the mix so well. It's a gigging machine.

I agree it is just glorious into an 810E, which I delight in using as backline. No gonna carry a fridge around though ;-)

I agree it's not as light as what you could expect from a class D amp and it's a bit noisy. However I do find it's pretty powerful. And seems to be in line with a 1000w amp.

I leave my 810 at church. I gig it pretty much every Sunday and it's a tone monster. Don't know what else to say, but how lucky I am everytime I stand in front of it. I have the 410HLF at home and don't like it nearly as much. I also have 210 with Hartke speakers in a Peavey cab. It's okay, but nasally to me. Eventually, I'll replace the 410 and 210 with lighter options of some sort. Maybe a couple 210AV's for portability or I may get the Mesa 115 and 210. They get great reviews. But in any case, I'll never get rid of my 810E.

Looking sharp man. I was fantasizing about a 2-ohm 7-Pro last night. Are you still gonna be our guinea pig for 2 ohms? Or are you gonna run both at once?

Haha! Well, I think I'll still give a try. But I don't think I'll really use it at 2 ohms. Despite the fact it looks actually possible.
But I agree if the amp could be used at 2 ohms and was a bit ligther, that would be the perfect amp!

Just thought I'd add my new Ampeg addition to the party. Love it. For gigs I'll still use my V4B when I'm in the mood to lift it.

So my SVT 3 Pro up for sale. A great amp but I wanted a lighter footprint for rehearsal and some gigs!

I use my SVT 7 pro on a GR Bass 210 4 ohm (600w) 16 kg.

The weight of the 6 is very close to the 4 & I love the 4 but really need a light alternative. Years of lugging 8/10 have taken their toll .

I have used the 4 pro for many years. Great amp but I wasn't using the bi amp thing neither the graphic EQ.
I switched to the 7 pro and can't be happier. Same power, same tone, but way lighter and more compact.

I've been lusting over a 7 pro for year but haven't pulled the trigger cause of all the problems with reliability.
