Ampeg SVT 7 Pro Club

As far as numbers go for right now, feel free to look through the thread and give yourself a number chronologically. I apologize, but I am in the middle of a divorce and am moving from the Commonwealth of Taxachusetts to Florida this week. So I simply haven't been able to give this club the attention it deserves. Thanks for your understanding fellow members of the 7 Pro Legion. I will be back in full force soon after I have settled in and gotten things out of the way with my new Grrrl. Ruff!!

Oh man I'm sorry to hear that. Divorce is not an easy thing to deal with, hang in there pal, it gets better.

It's all good man. Posted I was getting divorced on facebook and this hottie I haven't seen in 20 years messages me she's getting divorced too and that I was the best guy she ever knew. She is great!! Driving to Florida to her house. She's a singer and we're going to jam in the garage. 1block from the ocean!! I win!!

Can I get a number and some help please? :)

I'm using my SVT7 with an active fender and a b410hlf cab and it has a brilliant tone. But the gain seems to do little but boost the volume. Even with the -15 off it doesn't light up the peak light and it doesn't seem to get growly. It only gets close to distorting if I put my bass preamp on full and all the amp EQ on full with full gain.

My SVT7 was restored not new but the guy who restored it gets glowing reviews. Any advice? It's not the worst fault in the world but it might be a bit annoying.

A tax exile, eh? Well despite the efforts of Skeletor, we're doing our best to keep Florida a nice place to tax exile ;)

Today I did a comparision between the SVT7 Pro and my Orange Bass Terror 500W regarding the volume level. I've put the settings equally as possible for both amps to get an honest view on it.

And IMO, my Orange goes WAAAAY louder then my SVT7 Pro. I was like: DAFUQ ! :D I can easily make everything resonate in my house without cranking up the gain and volume knob way too much when I play in Drop D :p

Is it just because of the fact that my Orange has 2 tubes in the pre-amp compared to 1 in the SVT7's pre-amp ?

I have an Orange Bass Terror BT500. No experience with the SVT7 Pro. But I gotta say, the Orange Bass Terror has tons of headroom and yes, it gets LOUD and has lots of punch and sweet tube presence and a bit of organic old school Tube grind. Very impressive amp!
