Hello,
First of all I spent some time reading over the FAQ trying to find a sufficient answer to this and maybe I'm just missing it by being a little too dense.
Here's the issue. I have an older SVT400 that splits it's output into 2 200w channels. My cabinet is an Ampeg 6x10 with one input. The channels are each rated at 4ohms as is the input on the cab. I need a way to get the full 400 watts out of my head because I'm practicing turned up to 8 and am being annihilated by the three guitarists in my band all playing at 2.
I considered just getting a y-cable but it appears that would be pushing 8 ohms (unless my review of calculations for this are off) into a 4 ohm input. While it would blow it outright from what I've read it isnt advised.
I guess what I need to know is there some kind of adapter i can buy to run bot channels into then out into into one 4 ohm line? or is there another solution to this?
Thanks.
