Ampeg teasing us again

Funny thing is in many cases its cheaper to just buy the vintage amp(likely more reliable too). There are V4B's that come up for sale regularly for about $600. B15N's are a bit more, but still less than a new reissue would be.

Ampeg started teasing again on facebook about a 100 watt amp. Really hope they do it. But more than anything I wish the jump into the sub 50 watt amps like ashdown. Would love to see a b15 in a head case or a b25b reissue. Or a amp based off of one of them.

I would really like to see them do a 100 watt tube amp with a fender style power switching and DI. Oh, and do it for a grand as well.

Been hearing things about a V4B reissue coming but who knows. I just bought a '76 V4B so I'm sure it will be here soon just to piss me off. Love the vintage ones but would be cool to have a DI for FOH on it.

I run mine (early 70s Magnavox era V4) through a speaker level DI (Countryman) all the time and it sounds amazing out front.

As stated before, the "real deal" vintage ones are way under a grand already. Why buy a new one made with cheaper parts? Sorry. I don't get it.

Me, I want a shiny new one with no dings in the tolex (I'll take care of putting the dings in myself, LOL!), a warranty (hopefully won't need to use that), maybe a nice built in DI, and all of the front panel graphics intact:D.

That being said, the reissue has to be true tonewise to the original or I'll pass.

They had a prototype picture up a while back, basically just compenents mounted on some 2x4s with an ampeg badge. Today's teasing was a post with "#100W" and in the comments section "100W OF ALL-TUBE LEGENDARY AMPEG BASS TONE". Maybe they're going the Mesa Strategy amp route and they're going to hype the completely built prototypes for 3 years.

I know ;) it's coming. Ryan just hinted on their FB page that it'll be announced August 1.
